The mild slopes of the Little Carpathians, the south-eastern orientation, the granite bedrock, the warm sandy soils and the temperate climate zone are a well-tuned interplay of major terroir factors that give wines from Little Carpathians a special character and good maturing potential.
The soil horizon is shallow, full of stones and sometimes barely cover the massive granite core. Agriculture tools suffers, but the vineyard has been doing very well here for centuries.
The broken ridge of the Little Carpathians has a fundamental influence on climatic conditions. In the southeast it opens beautiful sunny locations, and from the north the same ridge protects the vineyards from the cold northwestern current.
